Principal or Lead Research Engineer – Autonomous Systems

SSCI is looking to fill Principal or Lead Research Engineer/Scientist positions in the areas of autonomy for unmanned systems. These positions require U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for U.S. Dept. of Defense Security Clearance.

Level PhD w/ 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent, in EE, CS, AI, Robotics, Cognitive Systems, Machine Learning or related field, with demonstrated experience in Autonomous Vehicles, Behavior-based Robotics, or other Unmanned/Autonomous Systems development
Location Full-time opportunities are available in Woburn, MA.
Duties ·  Develop advanced concepts in Autonomy, AI, Machine Learning, and/or Cognitive Systems

·  Develop competitive proposals and follow-on programs for R+D customers, including DARPA, ONR, AFRL, ARL, NASA, and other government agencies and industry primes

·  Lead execution of advanced technology R+D programs in Principal Investigator roles

·  Support other company initiatives and programs in a Subject Matter Expert role

·  Support company marketing and business development via technical briefings, publications, conferences, and professional outreach activities

Required Skills/Experience ·  Established background in Autonomy, Robotics, or Unmanned Systems, with technology focus in AI, machine learning, and/or cognitive systems

·  Demonstrated successes in winning proposals and developing innovative solutions in Unmanned Systems, Autonomy, Robotics, or Machine Learning

·  Demonstrated ability to interact independently with R+D customers as PI or SME

·  Demonstrated small team leadership and interpersonal skills

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills/Experience ·  Experience in Human Systems Integration (HSI), User Interfaces (UI), Multi-Vehicle Tasking, and/or Mission Planning for Unmanned Systems
