SSCI is looking to fill a Senior Visual Control Scientist/Engineer position in the Active Perception and Cognitive Learning group for projects relating to perceptual systems for unmanned vehicles.   This position requires U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for DoD Security Clearance.

Level PhD (or MSc with 4+ years experience), EE, CS, or related field; 4+ years working in Applied Computer Vision
Location Woburn, MA
  • Develop creative solutions to challenges in the development of visual control (reactive and planned), and object recognition systems for unmanned air vehicles
  • Develop system models and perform detailed component and system level analysis
  • Support systems engineers in the integration of algorithms and real-time code
  • Work in a team to execute technical deliverables
  • Contribute technical materials for proposals, white papers and/or publications
  • Present technical results to internal and external customers
  • Participate in technical discussion for short term and long term technical plans
Required Skills/Experience
  • Strong background in vision-based control and computer vision systems
  • Experience of developing and prototyping novel research ideas
  • Proven ability in tools such as Matlab or Python, and in programming C/C++
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to external customers
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Experience working with computer vision on unmanned air vehicles
  • Experience with any of 3D pose estimation,  monocular depth from motion, heading estimation, time-to-contact estimation, or object detection/segmentation
  • Experience with any of OpenCV, VisionWorks, Jetson, CUDA, or FPGA programming
