Open Job Announcement: Vice President, R+D Programs
SSCI is looking to fill a Vice President, R+D Programs position for program management in the areas of unmanned systems autonomy, information fusion, perception, computer vision, mission planning, GNC, machine learning, intelligent and human supervisory systems. The successful applicant will be responsible for program oversight, advanced concepts and technology development in research and development programs from Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for U.S. DoD Security Clearance.

|Level||PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace or related field, with demonstrated experience of over 10 yrs. in winning and managing R+D programs, including DARPA. Progressive technology development and leadership experience in robotics, machine learning, AI, computer vision and/or data science.|
R+D Program Management: Reviews, QA, Risk Management & follow-on contracts
Goal – to enhance contract performance and follow-on awards success including generation of new ideas for DoD and NASA customers.
Overall responsibility for ensuring that R+D programs are meeting financial, schedule, and program execution targets and successfully capturing follow-on awards / options/ contracts.
Lead the Program Review process including application of QA/Risk methodologies.
Mentoring of Program Managers and Principal Investigators.
Identify opportunities for follow-on business and improve conversion ratio for SBIR
Programs and options and follow-on contracts for DARPA programs.
New Business Development
Market SSCI technologies and capabilities – develop a strategy for their incorporation into DoD and NASA S&T and Transition programs.
Meetings with customers to identify Customer Hard Problems and operational directions needed to influence technology vision.
Development and customer acceptance of system/technology concepts designed to address challenges.
Develop and maintain an opportunity pipeline including both short term and long term opportunities.
Technology Vision: integration of IRAD, RD & SBIR programs, and Business Development into a cohesive plan; Tech/Customer Roadmap Developments
Define, socialize and implement a technology roadmap that contributes to major program pursuits and IRAD directions.
Successful integration with IRAD and Business Development policies, strategies, and processes (as part of higher level organizational growth and sustainment strategy).

Experience in managing DARPA advanced technology development programs.

Demonstrated R+D team leadership and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated management experience of an R+D portfolio.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
|Desirable Skills and Experience||Experience in new business development and program management of advanced technologies for other DoD (ONR, AFRL, MDA, SOCOM), the intelligence community, and/or NASA customers.
